General Legend Discussion / Re: What goes well with Vampire?

Thanks for the tip Desocupado. Sorry it took forever to notice it. And yeah, it sorta makes sense to treat it as a semi-defensive 4th Track. I've actually been experimenting with a build very similar to your Assassin build, but with Esoterica Radica instead of Professional Soldier

General Legend Discussion / What goes well with Vampire?

Salvete my fellow roleplayers! I recently just started looking back in to Legend and I just realized that I've never seen the Vampire track in action. I wanted to try at least making a build for a Vampire but again, never seen it in action. It look like it could be a good frontliner thanks to self healing like Bloodlust and Child of Shadows but I'm not seeing any big synergies right away. Beyond Smiting for Charisma exploitation of course. What've y'all done with Vampire?

Is this thread still going on?  If so...  SALVATE MY FELLOW ROLEPLAYERS!  I am houselyrander, I like long walks on the beachheads of Hell, Laying on Hands, and White Russians.  My favorite Tracks are Just Blade, Incantation, and Battle's Tempering.  My least favorite is Path of the Ancestors.  I'm currently operating out of central Texas and I've got a group I'm pretty attached to right now.

That's all for now, so remember to be good to yourselves and those you love.

Looks solid overall.  I noticed that Movement bonus is different from "get 2 levels at a time" growth at Lvl 5 and lvl 8 and that Ability Score bonuses go a bit higher as well.  The Speed Bonus seems to be for smoothing purposes which I think works but I'm not so sure about the Stat changes.  Would you mind giving an overall Changelog for what you did where and at what levels in comparison to "get 2 levels at a time" growth?

Legend Mechanics & Balance / Re: How long does Cadence of Blows last?

The bonus for Cadence of Blows has no duration limit, but keep in mind the attack bonus applies only against a single opponent in melee range and there's a limit to how high it can stack based on circle.  It would be reasonable for a DM to rule it only lasts until the end of the [encounter], though.

Ah, okay then.  It seemed a bit weird for it to last indefinitely but now that I consider that most enemies don't even "exist" as far as combat is concerned for more than a single [Encounter] it makes more sense.  My group will probably still use that rule you suggested though.

There's no limit on how long a Chain can be, but keep in mind that using a Chain Finisher always resets your Links to zero, no matter how many you had when you activated the Chain Finisher.

Right, and Links reset to 0 at the start of a new [Encounter] as well.  I can see how that would prevent silly long Chains from being formed unless the Magi in question wanted to spend a bunch of time charging up like it was DBZ.  Thanks for clearing that up for me!

And don't forget to be good to yourself and those you love.   :)

While I'm not certain about BAB, but I've read developer statements saying that yes, Judgement and Esoterica Radica are indeed class locked for balance (although there's still some "D&D and early iteration relic" to it).  Chassis is in a pretty similar boat although I think KDM and KOM are balanced against each other and not the rest of the Chassis.  This is all just from memory though so feel free to wait for a second opinion.

Legend Mechanics & Balance / How long does Cadence of Blows last?

Salvate my fellow roleplayers!  I've been playing Legend on and off for a long time but I'm very new to both the forums and Rangers.  I'm currently trying to make a Ranger for the first time but I've hit a problem.  I can't figure out how Iron Magi (specifically Cadence of Blows) works.  I get the idea of building up a resource (Links) to use for special effects (Finishers) but I can't figure out how long the effects of Cadence of Blows last since there's no listed duration.  Does it last for one turn?  Does it last until I attack?  Does it last until the fight is over?  Or does it just last forever and ever?  On a similar note, is there an upper limit on how many Links I can build up or is the only limitation my action economy?
