I am just gonna make Domon Kasshu and the Shining Gundam.

You will be required to take my love, my anger, and all of my sorrow.

It is sad, I know, but that is the only Gundam I've ever really watched.

Oh, question. Abilities. How are we setting our abilities? Which method?
I'm not quite sure, I'm probably leaning towards array, as that makes my life much simpler, but point buy might be used to some degree. Perhaps as some way to differentiate the mechs from the pilots, with one being array and the other point buy.

It is not sad, because G-Gundam is BEST GUNDAM.

To Rokku: I heard unicorn is pretty good but talk about slow pace. Only one episode a month or something like that.

To Stratos: As for abilities again.  If we do array, what will our array be? I'll assume default until you say otherwise.

Are you ok with any of my methods (from my post two posts ago) for my character joining with derp?

I'd recommend the first season of 00 personally, essentially Gundam Wing, but better. Second season threw that all away, but hey, first season I enjoyed.

Anyway, if we DO go array, yes it will be standard.

Also, how does faking a registration sound? Although I do like the selling it option, lots of plot threads there.

Just the first season? How long is it?

Ok, so i'll standby to find out abilities.
As for my character, forging was an option I'd like to consider.  My character could have had some low connections who is very familiar with the system. That would also explain how I came to steal a mech to begin with and of course I would lose those connections once the game starts. The sell & buy alternative works ok with me too. I'm flexible with this part of my character so anyway you want to fit him in is up to you. I almost considered trying to start as a loner who ran into derp squad mid-mission; but I figured that is probably too out of bounds to the setting.

You know what, if it helps give you some material I will be happy to take the sell & buy route.

Other good gundam series include the original Mobile Suit Gundam and what's *usually* called the best series, 08th MS Team.

But really, G-Gundam is best gundam.  So much fun, that show.

I guess that'd make me Trowa Barton.... Elf rogue with a mecha based on doing lots of AoE damage.

Is there still room in this?  Because I'd like to actually get some use out of the time I put into designing my character for the old version.

Okay, I've thought it over, and abilities will be standard array for the pilots, with point buy for the mechs. Basically, nature hands you what you get, and as I don't want to do random stats, array does the best as far as this is concerned, while the mechs can be fine tuned to owners specifications. Everything starts at level one, and we'll go from there.

I have one slot left over, so it's between Rokku and Kyle, submit your characters here, so I can make a judgment call.

I'll work on a character tomorrow while heading down to Chicago. What level are we looking at? And anyone have advice for making an AoE focused Mech?

Lets see. At this level, arcane lore is probably the easiest way to do AoE. Elementlaist doesn't really get any yet, and when it does they will be of limited use. necromancer is similarly a later game AoE track. You could do destruction, if you count that as AoE. Earth elemental has an AoE at low levels, and at higher levels Air elemental does as well (or acts close enough to AoE for most purposes). Shaman spells has some AoEs coming in starting at 3rd circle. Sage's wraiths has some AoEs with less focus on raw damage. Iron magi gets to throw around some AoEs.

Oh, maybe a stupid question. But what should I put down for size and speed? (EDIT) oh, and are they starting with flight? That was brought up but I don't think it was ever officially decided. (/edit)

Aside from that and weapons and armor and magic items (and writing in the track abilities for Sentient construct on my macho character (macho corrected from mech thanks to spell check ;))), I think they are at least ready for grading and making sure I didn't do anything I shouldn't have.

Also, once I get straightened out how Elam came to be apart of DERP, I will probably have some background to add for both sheets.
