"Mana"
A track concept being experimented with by Nohwl as a proposal to consider for the Magic Book.

circle 1 doesn't actually give you a benefit for using mana, and at circle 1, a spell slot is a mana is a spell slot. It has no effect on how things work until at least 2nd circle. So, all this accomplishes at 1st circle is the knowledge skills.

laying lines is... interesting
if you have 3 spellcasters with the mana track, you break even on casting spells, as you spend X mana and they gain 1/2X each. With 4, its netting a gain, thereby making spellcasting free.

3rd circle is an immediate for resistances. stoneskin would give you lesser resistance as a base, so this could easily be pulling out greater resistance by 4th circle, at least for mana shamans. However, it is an immediate, so it is probably fine.

unplug is interesting. it  seems like it could vary quite a bit depending on who you hit with it.

refresh is... pretty dysfunctional, as scene limtied resources are rare, and they tend to be spells.... and spendng mana to get another spell is pointless. the main thing that occurs to me is resetting an auto-res, but those are 7th circle, so you have some time before thats useful.

the wording on 3rd adn sixth could be straightened out more; I'd have 6 refer back to 3 rather than have 3 change it self at 6th

blackout is interesting, but has the same concerns as unplug. The extra use of an encounter abiliy makes it like a bonus 7th circle if you have a 1/encounter 7th

This needs a name. I would say something like "true mage", were it not already a track. Here's a few ideas;

>Manaflow Specialist
>Flux Mage
>Free/Chaos Mage
>Sourcerer
Sebrica - The House of Corners

I find this to be a rather strange track, in the sense that it doesn't really offer anything on its own. More than any other track, a player would need to pay very close attention to the abilities that they would be getting throughout the whole career to make sure that this track will not be a lot of wasted potential.

I mean, I rather like the concept, but when most other tracks can stand on their own in one way or another, it's strange.

Thoughts?

I don't think it lives up to its potential either. When I started reading, I expected cool ways to usemana to boost spells or do cool things. This is mainly a new resource system without much actually using it.
